POLICY STATEMENT:

 

The Board recognizes that situations of an urgent nature may arise for which there may be no Board policy or insufficient Board policy to guide the action of the Superintendent.

 

To ensure the continued welfare of students, employees, the public, and the Board when such situations arise, the Board has developed  the following guidelines and procedures.

 

 

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES:

 

1.         The Superintendent shall:

 

a.         Consider the matter and, if possible, consult with the chair or vice-chair who may convene a meeting of the Executive Committee.

 

b.         Determine an appropriate course of action, and communicate that course to those immediately affected.

 

c.         Prepare a written report, detailing the circumstances, the determined course of action, and any proposed policy or policy revision, for the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board.

 

2.         Only in the event of an extremely urgent matter, shall the Superintendent attempt to arrange a special meeting of the Board, pursuant to Section 51 of the School Act.
