CATEGORY:     STAFF EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA

 

 

POLICY STATEMENT:

 

The Board believes that appointment, salary, promotion, and all other conditions of employment should be based on the training, experience, and performance of staff members.

 

 

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES:

 

1.         No discrimination shall be practised against any staff member for reasons     of age, sex, marital or parental status, family relationship, physical attributes, ethnic or national origin, language, religious or political affiliation, or membership or activity in any legally constituted association.

 

2.         Employees of the Division are encouraged to reside within its boundaries.  New positions will be filled, wherever possible, by persons residing within the Division, or indicating a willingness to relocate.
