Second Language Programs
Cree Instruction
- Aspen View offers Cree Language and Culture instruction at Vilna School.
French Immersion
- Aspen View offers French Immersion (FI) in all three Athabasca schools. The program runs from K-9 and in high school two courses are offered for the FI students to maintain their language skills: Career and Life Management (CALM) and French Vernacular 15, a locally developed course.
French as a Second Language
- Aspen View has mandated that all students will learn a second language for a minimum of 150 minutes per week. French is currently being learned by all students from grades 1-7. This mandate will eventually include all students from K-9.
Ukrainian and Spanish as a Second Language
- Aspen View hopes to offer Spanish and Ukrainian as complimentary high school courses in the near future.
