This is Dennis MacNeil’s second term as school trustee representing Aspen View North Central. With resignation of Mr. Ponich, Board Chair, Mr. MacNeil is currently the Acting Chairman of Aspen View Public Schools until the Organizational meeting scheduled for September 4, 2014. He is a retired schoolteacher and the former Administrator for Rochester School. Dennis is married to Darlene MacNeil and together they have raised four biological children and have been fostering children for the past 17 years. Dennis works both with Dr. Cummings in Athabasca as an Optometric assistant and with Children Services, doing training for prospective foster, adoptive and kinship parents. Dennis serves on the Budget Committee, Communications Committee, Executive Committee, Labour Relations Committee - ATA, Labour Relations Committee - Support Staff, Policy Committee, Student Appeals Committee - North and the Technology Committee.

This is Trevor's first term as school trustee representing Aspen View North Central. Trevor has been married to Carla for 20 years and they have two children in attendance at Edwin Parr Composite School. Trevor and his family have made Athabasca their home for the last 8 years, enjoying all that rural living has to offer. He is first and foremost his kids HERO, a mentor with the FCSS mentorship program, a religious instruction teacher; he is the pastor of a church within the community and has a deep love for kids, youth and the family.

This is Lewis' first term as school trustee representing Aspen View North West. Lewis has been married to Penny for 22 years and they have one son John who is graduating from Edwin Parr Composite School. Lewis graduated from Grassland High School and is a certified Project Coordinator who operates a general contracting business. Lewis is currently a training officer for the Athabasca 230 Air Cadets. Lewis and his wife Penny are Board Trustee’s for the International Third World Leaders Association, and are the Canadian National Directors for the non- profit association, 2 Equal 1 Canada, Marriage Ministries. Lewis believes that education is the foundation in the growth of our communities. Lewis’ passion is to see the next generation identify their gifts and become all they can be.

This is Elohne's first term as school trustee representing Aspen View South Central.Elohne and her husband Cory live on an acreage outside of Smoky Lake with their 2 teenage daughters. Both girls attend HA Kostash school where Elohne has served as Chair of Parent Council and volunteers countless hours. She also serves as Chair on the Links to Learning Literacy Society Board. Through Elohne’s home based business (Beauti-Control) that she has operated for over 20 years she has mentored and has been a sounding board for many students. Elohne says “I believe it is imperative the roles and responsibilities of trustees encompass the need to be a voice for our students and all stakeholders”. She advocates that, as elected representatives, we have an ongoing responsibility to provide a strong, solid education for all children in Aspen View.

This is Donna's first term as school trustee representing Aspen View South East. Donna and her husband Shawn have the exciting task of raising 3 young and busy boys! Her family farms in the Vilna area where she and Shawn are very active members in the community. She has a BSc in Human Ecology specializing in Family Studies and worked as a Family School Liaison Worker for the Smoky Lake County. This position allowed her to work first hand with students, families, and school staff through various challenges and help to facilitate positive change. Having children in the current school system has fueled her desire to make their educational experience the best it can be. All children deserve to learn to their full potential! As a board member she will listen, advocate and be responsive to the various issues that impact education today.

This is Patricia's first term as school trustee representing Aspen View South West. Formerly a paralegal from Central Alberta, Pat has lived between Thorhild and Rochester for 16 years, where she has raised her four children (16 – 22). Whether she’s leading a group of 4-H kids in canine obedience, horsemanship, gardening or communication skills, organizing a youth event, or helping students who struggle with basic academic skills, she loves life and encouraging others to enjoy it! She coordinates community events and sits on the boards of several local organizations. She considers it a privilege to serve as trustee as she is passionate about people, community and education.
