This is Brian Bittorf’s second term as school trustee representing the Town of Athabasca. Brian is married to Marilyn and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. He is active in the local Rotary Club. Hobbies include fishing, golf, quading and wood working. In addition to Chair of the Board of Trustees, he sit ex-officio on all Board Committees.

Paul Ponich – Board Vice-Chair
This is Paul Ponich's fifth term as school trustee representing Athabasca North East. Paul (B.Sc in math and a B.Ed) was an educator for 37 years; 35 of those years as a school administrator. Paul was also a county councillor for 6 years. In addition to Vice-Chair, he serves on the Budget Committee, Executive Committee, Grievance Committee, Transportation Committee and the Finance Committee. Paul is married to Diana who works as the secretary of Grassland School. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Paul is active in the Grassland Volunteer Fire Department, the Grassland Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Grassland Cemetery Committee and is Chair of the Athabasca Regional Airport Board.

Penny Fehr
This is Penny Fehr’s second term as school trustee representing Thorhild North. Penny is married with 2 graduated children. She does all the farming on their farm as well as custom work. Penny and her husband run a construction company and he runs jobs all over Alberta. Penny has worked with children with disabilities for several years. She serves on the Budget Committee, Labour Relations Committee - Support Staff and the Student Appeals Committee - South.

This is Wes Kowalchuk’s third term as school trustee representing Athabasca South East. Wes is a lifetime resident of the Boyle area. He currently farms and has been involved in various industries. Wes has been involved with minor sports both as a coach and a manager. Wes is an advocate for children and how, as a School Board, we can help each child reach their full potential. Bob Rohatynchuk’s second term as school trustee is representing Smoky Lake East. Bob is married with 2 sons. Bob’s wife has been a teacher at Vilna School for 27 years and helps Bob with farm work. Bob has been involved with school for years and loves it. As time goes on, his passion for school affairs grows. Randy Uglanica
Randy Uglanica is serving his second term as school trustee representing Smoky Lake West. Randy retired from teaching in 2000 after 32 years with parts of his career served with Edmonton Public Schools, Yukon Territorial Government, PRSD #10 and Aspen View. He has served 2 terms as councilor and Mayor of the Village of Warspite. Currently operates Cabinet and Handyman Services mainly in building and renovating solutions.
