Welcome to Science 10!

The goal of this website is to act as an additional resource to help students through the material in Science 10 or help them catch up on material they missed.  It is NOT intended to replace what's learned in the classroom as the information provided here is just a short summary of what we cover over the course of the semester.  What you will find on this website is:

Extra practice questions for Specific Heat Capacity and Heat of Fusion&Vaporization are now available (with solutions of course!). (added an extra link to the answers that DOES work).

  • summary notes on some of the topics covered in the course.

  • guides on what topics to focus on in studying for the unit exams - organized by priority.

  • downloadable assignment files: in case you lose the copy you received in class.

  • worked out solutions to the assigned homework.

  • course calendar: so you know what is upcoming in the course and know when the quizzes and tests are scheduled in case you need to miss a class or classes.

  • anything else I can figure out how to add to the website that would benefit you in Science 10

  • Hot Pepper, Hot Spider: you wouldn't think that peppers and spiders would have anything in common, but they both do cause a similar response from the pain receptors in the body.  For more on this strange story click here.
  • A New Basketball gets Slick: The NBA started trying out a new type of basketball, but it isn't all that it was promised.  For a story where change isn't always for the better click here.
  • Click here to check out the website devoted to this textbook.  It's rather large, but it contains a lot of interesting information related to the topics we will be covering over the course of the year.
