Dividing Polynomials

                1.  Algebra Tiles:

eg.  Simplify   = (3x^2 + 6x + 9) ÷ 3 = x^2 + 2x + 3 eg.  Simplify    =   (2x^2 + 4) ÷ 2 = x^2 + 2

eg.  Simplify     remember long Division… =  56875 ÷ 5 = 11375

                2.  Division of Polynomials by monomials

                                eg.  Simplify                                                     eg.  Divide the following:   

 thus    = x² + 2x + 3                                                                                        thus    =  x² + 2

                3.  Division of Polynomials by binomials

                                eg.  Divide                                                          eg.  Divide  

                                         thus    =  x + 6                                             thus    =  3x + 2

                                eg.  Divide                                            eg.  Divide 

                                         thus             = 2x² + 7x + 6                     thus   =  x – 3
