Course objectives:

Students will be expected to:

 


•  apply previously learned mathematical concepts and procedures to real-life problems.

 

•  make use of algebra and graphing to solve problems.

 

•  demonstrate effective communication skills. This includes understanding, using, and interpreting various mathematical concepts and processes.

 

•  explain, to illustrate, to reason and to make connections.

•  work through both routine and nonroutine problems.

 

•  take responsibility for their learning as they work both independently and in groups.

 

•  use technology (graphing calculators) for mathematical exploration, modeling and problem solving.

 

•  use spreadsheets to define various functions and solve problems.

Course Requirements

            It is the student’s responsibility to find which lessons or assignments have been missed.  The Students will have the responsibility to take home every exam to be signed, by their guardian, and corrections made for the following school day.

                        - Graphing calculator (and manual) 

                                    TI-84, TI-84 Plus, TI-83 Plus, or TI-83 calculator is required.
