Fine Arts:

ART:        The Art Program offers training, experience and opportunities for personal exploration in the

visual language of drawing, painting and three-dimensional work.  Studies use a variety of methods and

mediums (pencil crayons, pen and ink, collage,

 watercolours, clay and etc.) to create finished works.  The Art History component will be integrated with

the above units.  Students also learn about critiquing

 and evaluating their work.  This program strives to provide the students with a variety of projects to broaden their

appreciation in general.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC:        The Instrumental Music Program has been carefully designed to provide

 as wide an offering as possible to all students interested in furthering their musical training and experience.  The I

nstructional Music program is performance oriented and takes into consideration the background, interests, strengths

, and limitations of the students playing an instrument.

DRAMA:        The three year Drama program emphasizes knowledge of self and others through participation in

and reflection on dramatic experiences, competency in communication skills through exploration of various dramatic

 disciplines, and development of an appreciation for drama and theatre as a process and art form.

Career and Technology Studies

Career and Technology Studies has been designed to provide hands-on experience that will help prepare you for

entry into the world of work or for further studies in technology oriented careers. These courses provide you with a

great opportunity to explore a large number of career possibilities.

CTS courses are designed around individual modules being taught in each subject area. Each module is assigned

 a mark or credit. Student credits in CTS are determined by the number of successfully completed modules.
 

Construction Technology:

Introductory Construction Technology teaches the terminology, tools and processes common in building systems

and manufacturing systems.  Intermediate Construction Technology teaches the fundamentals of cabinetry, furniture

making and carpentry.

Foods:

Foods help students to build daily living skills.  Students learn to make wise food choices and to understand recipes,

 equipment, care in handling food, and the importance of safe and efficient work habits.

Information Processing:

Information Processing represents the study of electronic technologies as they apply to personal use and the

business environment.  As we move more rapidly into the information age, it is crucial that students are able to use

the computer to access and manipulate information in an efficient manner.  Students are encouraged to complete as

many Information Processing modules as possible during their high school career.

Mechanics:

Mechanics 1, through instruction, research and hands on experiences; students have the opportunity to gain

 knowledge and skills on the design, maintenance and care of the automobile. 

Mechanics 2/3, is an advanced vocational class dealing with the diagnosis and repair of the automobile.

 Video Production Technology:

Video production students will be introduced and tested on their ability to work in all facets of the production team

including: Script Writing, Camera Operation, Audio Operation and Editing.  The entire class will work on the

production of a weekly TV. show.

Yearbook Club:

 Yearbook club member will be able to show their creativity in a high school memory. Some of the tasks member

will proceed to do is; Take pictures of schooling events, organize and setup pictures (virtually), and create their

very own page in the yearbook. Click
