PROMOTION POLICY / EVALUATION
When a student appears to be having severe difficulty, parents will be contacted to discuss alternative programs.
Before a decision is made regarding a student’s grade placement, a teacher will consider the student’s academic achievement, effort, and progress during the year. The teacher will also review social, physical, and emotional factors, recommendations of the parents and the availability of alternative plans.
Parents will be notified no later than May 1, when retention is being considered.
There will be 3 reporting periods: December, March and June. Parent/student/teacher interviews will coincide with the December and March report cards.
