| 1. | In the event of a minor accident or illness which does not require the student to be moved from the school to a medical facility, the student will be treated at the school and the parents contacted. Some examples are : cut fingers, nausea, sprained finger, etc. |
| 2. | If the condition of the student warrants further medical treatment, the parent will be contacted to take the student to his or her family doctor or a medical facility’ e.g., rashes, flu, cuts requiring a few stitches. |
| 3. | If the need for medical attention is immediate, the student will be taken to the Redwater Hospital. The parents will be contacted to meet the student at the hospital e.g., severe cut, severe allergic reaction, broken arm. |
| 4. | If the need for medical attention is immediate, but the student should not be moved or transported without professional medical help, an ambulance will be called; e.g., back injury, unconscious- ness. |
| 1. | If an emergency occurs such as a gas leak, toxic spill nearby, etc. and it is determined that the school must be evacuated, stu- dents will be moved to the Radway Agri-Center. From this point it will be established if students will be bussed home or wait in the Agri-Center. |
| 2. | If students are to be sent home, parents will be contacted by phone. Bus drivers will not leave any student under 12 years of age at an unoccupied house. |
| 3. | In the event that the emergency affects both the school and the Agri-Center. Students will be taken by foot ( if it is an immediate danger) upwind and away from the source of danger. They will be picked up by bus as soon as possible or arrange- ments to shelter them will be made. |
| 4. | Bus drivers will be contacted and arrangements made to bus students home. Calls informing the parents will be made from local telephones. |
