INCLEMENT WEATHER - Refer to Policy EBCD
When circumstances warrant, such as inclement weather and
emergencies, the Superintendent shall, after consulting with the
Board of Trustees, dismiss the pupils and close the school. Every
possible attempt will be made to ensure that children are not sent
home to a locked or empty house.
When extreme weather conditions threaten the safety of students,
buses may not operate. No busses will operate when the
temperature is –40°C in the surrounding areas at 6:00 a.m.
The school will remain open on all school days, regardless of the
weather. Notification will be given over local radio stations.
COMMUNICATION
A monthly newsletter will be sent home with the youngest family
member at the beginning of each month. If you wish to have our
newsletter emailed to you, please call the office with your email in-
formation.
Additionally, notes highlighting activities throughout the week will
be sent out as needed.
CANADIAN / PROVINCIAL TESTING
Students in grades 2-8 write the Canadian Achievement Tests (CAT)
yearly.
Students in Grades 3-6 write the Provincial Achievement Tests
which are administered in May-June.
CHANGES TO CONTACT INFORMATION
In order to keep school records current, any changes thought the year
to information regarding addresses, phone numbers, medical condi-
tion, etc., should be reported to the office.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
If any parents wish to help out at the school or have any special tal-
ents they wish to share with our students, please feel free contact the
school or your child’s teacher.
Please note: All volunteers are required to complete a
criminal records check with the RCMP.
