Charles Beamish appointed coordinator of the Centre for Alternative & Virtual Education
Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Charles Beamish has been appointed as coordinator of the Centre for Alternative & Virtual Education (The CAVE) for the 2017-18 School year.
Charles has been with Aspen View Public Schools since 2004, primarily teaching senior high Social Studies at Edwin Parr Composite School. He has also worked closely with the EPC student council, helped coordinate student trips to more than 20 countries through EPC’s International Learning Experience program, and last year co-founded EPC’s nationally recognized Land-Based Learning program.
Charles holds Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts (specialization in Native Studies) degrees from the University of Alberta, as well as a Master of Arts degree from Royal Roads University. “My graduate studies specialization was focused on program development, hence my passion and interest in The CAVE,” he said. “My primary CAVE assignment is to work with Aspen View staff to create new learning experiences. While I’ll miss teaching Social Studies, this is my ‘dream job’!”
Aspen View Public Schools looks forward to Charles’ creativity, energy and experience contributing to continued positive learning experiences for The CAVE and its students.
