Brenda Mykytiuk appointed as vice principal at Vilna School

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Brenda Mykytiuk has been appointed vice principal at Vilna School for the 2017-2018 school year.

Brenda is a graduate of H.A. Kostash School in Smoky Lake and holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. Brenda’s teaching career in Aspen View Public Schools began in 2009. Her experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, literacy coordinator and inclusive education coordinator in Alberta, Ontario and Australia. She was the recipient of the Alberta Education Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. Over the last year, Brenda has been one of Aspen View Public Schools’ two division-based literacy coaches/coordinators.

Brenda will share the vice principal’s role at Vilna School with Paul Jespersen, who was appointed prior to the 2016-17 school year.

Brenda’s variety of experience, particularly her most recent leadership role guiding Aspen View Public Schools’ literacy initiative, will be a tremendous asset to the Vilna School community.
