On May 5, 2023, Sadie Lowe was presented with the 2022-23 Board of Trustees Bus Driver of the Year Award, during the Aspen View Public Schools 2023 Staff Awards and Recognition Night, held at the Boyle Community Centre.
The Board of Trustees of Aspen View Public Schools established the Bus Driver of the Year Award in 2018 to celebrate exemplary service and dedication demonstrated by school bus drivers as they carry out the important task of transporting Aspen View students to and from school.
Sadie was nominated for the award by two families on her Athabasca-area route.
“I nominate Sadie because she always goes above and beyond for all students on her bus,” one nomination read. “My children have such a great bond with Sadie, it makes me as a parent feel at peace knowing my children are in the care of such a great bus driver.”
“My kids were a little hesitant as they had never taken the bus before,” the other nomination read. “My kids love the bus and it is all due to Sadie. My kids feel safe, they trust her and they never worry about anything. I and my kids look forward to seeing her each and every school day. She goes the extra mile and treats my kids like her own.”
