Aimee HirtleSecretary-Treasurer

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Aimee Hirtle, CPA, CA, has been appointed as Secretary-Treasurer of Aspen View Public Schools, effective May 15, 2020.

Aimee joins Aspen View Public Schools following 3.5 years as Corporate Treasurer for Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) in Peace River, AB. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Athabasca University and earned her Chartered Accountant designation in 2009. Prior to joining HFCRD, Aimee worked extensively in private practice.

Aimee brings creativity, innovation and initiative to her new role with Aspen View.

Director of Human ResourcesKimberlee Carson

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Kimberlee Carson has been appointed as Director of Human Resources for Aspen View Public Schools, effective for the 2020-21 school year. Kimberlee was appointed as acting Director in February 2020.

Kimberlee has spent her entire career in education with Aspen View. After 15 years as a teacher at Thorhild Elementary School and Thorhild Central School, she spent four years as assistant principal at Boyle School. She has been assistant principal and principal at Thorhild Central School for the past 12 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s Degree from the University of Calgary. Kimberlee has also been very active with the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation Project Overseas.

Kimberlee’s wide range of experience and leadership skills will benefit Aspen View Public Schools in her new role.

Principal, Thorhild Central SchoolJustin Gross

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Justin Gross has been appointed as principal of Thorhild Central School, effective for the 2020-21 school year. Justin was appointed as acting principal in February 2020.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Ryerson University. He joined the staff at Thorhild Central School in 2011 after previously teaching in Redwater, AB. He has been assistant principal of Thorhild Central School for the past two years.

Justin is a highly skilled educator, particularly in the math and science fields, and works collaboratively with both staff and students to build rapport and healthy learning environments. Justin will continue the excellent leadership he demonstrated in his assistant principal role.

Principal, Vilna SchoolBrenda Mykytiuk

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Brenda Mykytiuk has been appointed as principal of Vilna School, effective for the 2020-21 school year.

Brenda has been with Aspen View Public Schools since 2009 and spent the last two years as assistant principal of Vilna School and K-3 lead for the Aspen View numeracy initiative. Prior to that, she helped lead Aspen View’s literacy initiative. Brenda’s previous experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, literacy coordinator and inclusive education coordinator in Alberta, Ontario and Australia. A graduate of H.A. Kostash School in Smoky Lake, Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree from Concordia University College of Alberta.

Brenda’s experience in education and leadership will be an asset to the Vilna School community.

Assistant Principal, Vilna SchoolDiane Padlesky

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Diane Padlesky has been appointed as assistant principal of Vilna School, effective for the 2020-21 school year.

Diane joined Aspen View in 2012 as assistant principal at Vilna School, and has served as principal for the past four years. Prior to joining Aspen View. Diane’s teaching experience included time with Northland School Division, Rocky View Schools and instructing at the University of Alberta. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree from the University of Calgary.

Diane’s reassignment to the assistant principal role will facilitate administrative succession planning, and also provide capacity for Diane to continue her work building relationships with First Nations communities.

Aspen View Public Schools looks forward to Diane’s continued contributions to the success of Vilna School and the students, families and communities it serves.
