COVID-19 case confirmed at Vilna School

Aspen View Public Schools was notified today of a positive case of COVID-19 diagnosed in an individual from Vilna School.

Twenty-six students and five staff from Vilna School who had close contact with the positive case have been directed to stay home. To protect privacy, no further case details will be provided.

“Aspen View and Vilna School administration are diligently following Alberta Health Services guidance to ensure the necessary steps are taken to protect the health and safety of students and staff,” Superintendent Neil O’Shea commented.

We remind parents/guardians of students, as well as any staff to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. The Alberta Health daily checklist can be found here. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.

As a reminder, if you or your child have any of the core symptoms listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please stay home/keep your child at home and fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.
