Constantine Kastrinos appointed as new Superintendent of Aspen View Public Schools

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Constantine Kastrinos has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Schools and Chief Executive Officer for Aspen View Public Schools effective September 1, 2023.

“We welcome Constantine to the Aspen View family and look forward to working with him to continue our pursuit of providing high-quality education for our students,” said Candy Nikipelo, Chair of the Aspen View Public Schools Board of Trustees. “Mr. Kastrinos was selected from a field of truly outstanding candidates. We believe that Constantine’s values and ethics, his strong work orientation, his ability to work collaboratively and his belief in community engagement are an excellent fit for building on the current strengths of our Division.”

Mr. Kastrinos has maintained an exemplary record over a 23-year journey as an educator. He has excelled as a teacher, department head, assistant principal, supervisor/consultant of planning, and a principal with the Edmonton Public School Board. For the past three years he has served as Chief Deputy Superintendent with the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. He comes to Aspen View with a wide range of experiences.

Mr. Kastrinos has a strong practical and theoretical background in educational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Education degree with distinction from the University of Alberta. He has also earned a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta. He holds Education Law certificates (Association of School Business Officials of Alberta) as well as Workplace Investigations certification. Additionally, Mr. Kastrinos has significant Human Resources training.

“People who work within education systems are charged with caring for and being a part of developing the most precious resource we have, our children,” Mr. Kastrinos commented. “This is a tremendous responsibility; all students must have a safe and stimulating learning environment, and within that environment student diversity is to be celebrated. I value all staff as individuals and as members of professional teams. I commit to being an ambassador for the Division and an advocate for our students, staff and community.”

Constantine and his wife Roshan have three beautiful, active children under 10 years of age with whom they are very engaged. Constantine also enjoys some rounds of golf.
