Aspen View Public Schools today announced appointments to three division-based administrative positions as part of a redistribution of responsibilities.

“Three of our division-based administrators are retiring this year, and we extend our best wishes to Deputy Superintendent Dr. Karen Penney, Director of Student Services Shannon Smith, and Facilities & Maintenance Manager David Kwiatkowski, and sincerely thank them for their contributions to Aspen View,” Superintendent Neil O’Shea said. “The unique timing of these vacancies provides an opportunity to evaluate our organizational needs, and I am excited about both the capacity created through these updated positions, and the exceptional individuals we have recruited to fill them.”

Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Technology

Katherine MannAspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Mann as Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Technology, effective for the 2022-23 school year.

Katherine joins Aspen View Public Schools after a 30-year career with Parkland School Division as teacher, assistant principal, principal and division-based administrator, including her most recent position as Division Principal – Indigenous Education & Numeracy. Katherine holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Alberta.

Having worked at various levels of leadership and with a range of curriculum, grade levels and division contexts, Katherine is well-positioned to provide Aspen View Public Schools with sustainable strategies and measurable solutions in her new portfolio.

Associate Superintendent of Human Resources & Student Services

Kimberlee CarsonAspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberlee Carson as Associate Superintendent of Human Resources & Student Services, effective for the 2022-23 school year. Her new position is a reassignment from her current role as Director of Human Resources.

Kimberlee has spent her entire career in education with Aspen View Public schools. After 15 years as a teacher at Thorhild Elementary School and Thorhild Central School, she spent four years as assistant principal at Boyle School and 12 years as assistant principal and principal at Thorhild Central School. Most recently, she has held the position of Director of Human Resources with Aspen View Public Schools since February 2020. Kimberlee holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s Degree from the University of Calgary. Kimberlee has also been very active with the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation Project Overseas.

Kimberlee’s wide range of experience and leadership skills will benefit Aspen View Public Schools in her new role.

Manager of Facilities & Operations

Paul FeledichukAspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Feledichuk as Manager of Facilities & Operations, effective May 6, 2022.

A graduate of Thorhild Central School, Paul joined Aspen View Public Schools in 2012 and was promoted to Lead Hand in 2020. He holds a Journeyman Gasfitter Certificate, Journeyman/Red Seal Plumber Certificate, and both Project Leadership and Project Management Certificates, all from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Paul’s proven track record with Aspen View of strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills make him an excellent choice to lead Aspen View Public Schools’ Maintenance Department.
