Labour Action: September 10, 2025 update

Dear Families,

The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) — which represents teachers, principals and assistant principals, and certificated division administrators across the province — has announced that it will commence strike action on Monday, October 6, 2025 unless an agreement is reached with the provincial government and the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), which represents all Alberta school boards.

We respect the collective bargaining process and remain hopeful that the ATA, the provincial government and TEBA will reach a fair agreement.

At this time, there are no changes to school operations. All Aspen View schools remain open, and classes and activities are continuing as usual.

Aspen View Public Schools has developed a Parent FAQ document to address questions school families may have about how potential labour action could affect school operations. This FAQ and other updates will be provided to school families through email, and on the Labour Action page on our division website.

Aspen View Public Schools values all of our staff and the work they do every day to support student learning. Thank you for your ongoing support.
