2025 Land-Based Learning

Aspen View Public Schools continues its commitment to infusing Indigenous ways of knowing and being into curriculum delivery, including through the 2025 Land-Based Learning camp, held this week at Camp Wright in Athabasca County.

Grade 10 students from throughout the division each spend three days and two nights immersed in traditional learning from Elders, Knowledge Keepers and school staff members. Sessions include Indigenous hand games, archery, fish smoking, canoeing, medicinal plants, beading, and hunting teachings.
